Let me break this down for you. I lived in New Jersey until I was 5 then I lived in Orlando, FL for 6 years then my family moved to Kendall, FL and a month later Hurricane Andrew came and had its way with our home. We next moved to Surfside, FL to live with my grandparents until we were able to get back on our feet then our family of four moved into a one bedroom apartment in Bay Harbor Islands, FL which is where I presently reside with my Fiance. I got my job at AMC when I was 18 and started G & G Mortgage Trust at 21 and began working at Best Buy within the Geek Squad at 26.
Life is amazingly funny yet stunning at times. I am sure we can all attest to the "roller coaster ride" philosophy at one point or another in our lives. Yet when you read books like "The Secret" you realize that the experiences you receive are solely because of ourselves and no one else. It gets kind of hard to blame anything or anyone but yourself, huh?
The reason I wanted to write this blog was to discuss the Spiritual world. The energy that is all around us but most are completely oblivious to. I can't point any fingers because I used to be that person. I graduated from FIU with my BA in Philosophy so when we talk about "Left-Brained" people. I was the epitome of logic and rationality, but I have grown immensely since the end of my time at FIU. I realized philosophy was merely human beings having their personal truths' within reason obviously yet when you speak to people of faith they are like a whole different breed. They don't need proof for miracles. They don't need scientific studies to bring their mind to ease. They just believe. Believing in a higher power and in yourself in many instances is tougher than believing a facts read out of a text book. There was a transition throughout our existence where we diverted from being connected to our Earth and more so to our possessions. I can't deny that I am guilty of being in love with my Blackberry at times. Technology and our advances in science are amazing but not as much as seeing people heal terminal cancer with Reiki.

Reiki aka Chi is a practice named by Dr. Usui but performed by the likes of Jesus and Buddha many years before Dr. Usui. Reiki is the ability to heal with our hands. Would a rational being believe that their cancer, which couldn't be cured by the best Doctors medicine had to offer would be cured by 3 Reiki practitioners? One would think not but when the fear of death lingers and faith is the only thing driving us then you better believe it would work. That is exactly how Reiki works! The energy of Our Higher Power flowing through the healers body into the healee then out of the healer and into mother earth to dispose of the ills. When I was graduating from FIU I would have never thought that I would ever take a class nor ever practice something like Reiki but that was all before I had met Rev. Dr. Tom Norris. He was my World Religions professor and he was speaking about a "church" I prefer to call a spiritual center that he ran for a decade plus with his wife Cathy which was a Universalist based church. At that point I was already past all the philosophical studies and my electives were all religious based. So let me take you through my upbringing and religious affiliations. First it started off with attending Catholic Church occasionally until I pleaded with my parents not to make go because it didn't resonate with me. When I first stopped attending church was at the age of 7 then my Mom had a "rebirth" and we started to attend a Christian based church and witnessing people catching the Holy Ghost and hooting and hollering about Jesus being God didn't do it for me either. I was 12 at the time when I stopped attending that Church. So needless to say Religion and I did not fair very well. My grandmother on the other hand was a devout Catholic and when we lived in her well Jose had to attend church. There came a point where my parents decided that it was up to myself to find my way when it came to religion and what I chose to follow. Up until the last two years of my journey to receive a Bachelor's degree I had not one bit of interest in religion or its practices.
Something just happens... Is it a light switch? A moment of clarity? Psychedelic experience, or Two? Point is that our outlook transforms itself to a search for the path to our enlightenment. Not necessarily the same enlightenment received by arriving at Nirvana like Siddhartha aka Buddha however it is the light energy which brightens us like stars. No not like Madonna, Tom Cruise or Angelina Jolie type of Superstars!
Until next time folks... We'll get back to the light energies and my introduction to Medicine Signs Spiritual Center.
